A card for Dad Print E-mail

When you've made your My dad... book or My grandad... book you'll need a card! We've put together 4 different card ideas for you to make with your child that Dad and Grandad will love. It's also a great reading and writing activity. 

Car photo frame
  • love2read Fathers Day Card - Car Photo Frame Draw the front of the car on a piece of thin white cardboard. Add details such as mirrors, but don't draw the wheels
  • Colour the car with pens or paints. Draw over the lines with a thin black pen, then cut out the car.
  • Cut out a photo of your dad and child and glue them both onto the window.
  • Cut two long, wide strips of thick black card and with a white pencil draw zigzags on them for the tread.
  • Fold and stick the strips so you have 2 triangles of card which you can then glue onto the car as wheels.

A drink of beer
  • Fold a piece of card and then cut out a beer glass shape, making sure the fold of the card runs along the edge of the handle.
  • Mix some brown paint and washing up liquid and let your child use a straw to blow in to the container you have used.
  • When there are a lot of bubbles place the card on top and you will get a brown bubble image on the front of the card
  • Top with cotton wool for the froth!

  • Stick on a card and fold the bottom edge out

  • Cut and fold a card and let your child your child draw a washing line on the front
  • Use some old clothing catalogues and let your child cut out and stick some new clothes for Dad on the line.
