A card for Mother's Day

Mother's Day is on 14th March this year and Spring is on it's way so get your child to make a very special flower which Mum and Granny will love. It's also a great reading and writing activity activity.

Use words that you have used in your My mum... book or simply "I love my mum or granny".

 You will need:

• Card from your local craft store - cut out 2 circles, 8 petals and 1 leaf
• 1 green stick which you can get from your local garden centre or find a stick in the park
• Glue, sellotape, scissors and pens

Instructions:

• Use the pen to write a message on one of the circles eg. I love mum
• Turn the circle over and stick the petals on the back round the circle
• Attach the stick to the back of the circle with sellotape
• On the second circle get your child to write their name, write it yourself or use your child's handprint
• Use the glue and some sellotape to stick this circle to the first one with the stick in the middle
• Finally attach the leaf lower down on the stick

If you've got some cheap perfume you can even give this special flower a scent by spraying it carefully!
